Recent examples of significant instructions include:

  • Assisting the Environment Agency in its investigation into the Buncefield oil explosion on both investigatory/process and regulatory issues;
  • Advising on all aspects for a significant waste to energy facility including all application documents, regulatory issues, PPC permits and challenges to grant of consents;
  • Advice on all consenting and regulatory aspects for the largest UK Offshore Wind Farm including the impact of the Habitats Regulations, alternative sites and the Energy Act 2004;
  • Review of the draft delivery plan for the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area for the examination in public of the South East Regional Plan to ensure that future housing development (approx 40,000 homes) can proceed without breaching the UK's obligations under the Habitats Directive;
  • Advice to Defence Estates, the MOD Property Division, on remediation of five areas of contaminated land identified as special sites;
  • Advising the Scottish Executive on compliance by Scottish Authorities, developers and statutory consultees with Environmental Impact Assessment legislation for Planning and Electricity Act applications.
