HOSPITALITY AND LEISURE

We've saved our clients millions of pounds by challenging unfair enforcement.

We've moved quickly to protect their reputation from being damaged.

And we've facilitated business growth with some smart negotiating.

That's why we are the firm of choice for major brands within the UK Hospitality and Leisure sector.

Our approach

We know how frustrating it can be when the law disrupts your business or stands in the way of growth. With this in mind, our nationally recognised lawyers will listen, use their huge experience in the sector and assist you to spot opportunities and plan the way forward when issues arise.

We will help you minimise the risk of problems occurring in the first place.

A good business relationship is built on mutual respect and trust. We make it our job to understand how your business works.

We always factor in cost and your preferred outcome; we never lose sight of your commercial objectives.

Our approach also applies to acquisition and development as well as to day to day legal support.

When one of our major hotel clients was challenged over its choice of state-of-the-art fire safety equipment, we intervened and successfully contested the enforcement action, saving our client a very significant sum.

In what threatened to be a brand critical issue, a national client turned to us for support when its reputation was at stake over civil and criminal allegations of food contamination. We resolved the matter ensuring there was no enforcement action and no media attention.

Our team also helped a celebrity nightspot in London's West End retain its premises licence on a revocation application - and then varied it to make the maximum use of space and further improve profitability.

For one client alone, we have negotiated the acquisition of over 450 additional trading outlets.

Our Hospitality and Leisure group offers strength and breadth, with many lawyers leaders in their field.

Our services

We have extensive experience advising clients across the sector, incorporating hotels, restaurants, bars, pubs, breweries, cinemas, theatres, betting shops, bingo clubs, night clubs, casinos, arcades, bowling centres and a variety of visitor attractions.

The day-to-day problems that crop up in this heavily-regulated sector are diverse; and so is our Group. It comprises experts on food and drink regulations, food hygiene, alcohol entertainment and gambling licensing, health and safety, trading standards, advertising standards, intellectual property, e-commerce, environmental pollution, data protection, outsourcing and distribution agreements, sponsorship arrangements, company law, debt recovery, insolvency, property and property litigation, construction, employment and consumer credit.

We have one of the UK's largest real estate acquisition and disposal groups, whether for one off deals or substantial portfolio work. This includes a specialist planning and regeneration team.

Our corporate lawyers handle deals of all sizes and, supported by our leading banking team where necessary, can help our clients to secure funding to realise their growth strategies.

Our business restructuring experts work closely with major accountants and insolvency practitioners to manage best possible outcomes in cases where liquidity is an issue.

We act for owners, operators, investors, lenders and developers. Anywhere there's food, drink, gambling or entertainment, our group of specialists can help.
