Our Environment

We recognise that our business practices have environmental effects, directly and indirectly and such we are committed to improving our environmental performance.
Objectives

  • to integrate within our day-to-day business practices environmental considerations, establishing performance indicators, action plans and improvement targets
  • to comply with all relevant environmental legislation
  • to share our environmental law knowledge with our clients and suppliers
  • to consider the environmental impacts of the materials we purchase at all stages of their life cycle and to adopt a sustainable procurement policy
  • to reduce consumption of materials, to promote the re-use of materials and the use of recycled materials and to encourage the recycling of waste in place of disposal
  • to reduce the environmental impacts of our transport use through adoption of a Green Transport Plan
  • to conserve energy through efficient use
  • to implement our environmental policy through attainment of BS8555: Environmental Management Systems for SMEs and achieve demonstrable environmental improvements

MEMBERSHIPS

The legal profession is devoting resource to fight climate change. Representatives from law firms across the UK, including Bond Pearce'sEmrys Parry and Richard Guyatt, have joined the Legal Sector Alliance, co-ordinated by the Law Society and Business in The Community, to develop a clear sustainability action plan and best practice for the legal sector. It seeks to encourage not only law firms but their suppliers and clients to sign up and play their part in tackling impacts on the environment.
