Our commitment to you
Put simply, this scheme is designed to help you become the best lawyer you can possibly be when you qualify.
We want you to have a rounded set of legal, business and personal skills, so that you feel confident to meet the challenges of working as a qualified lawyer and have the potential to develop into a future partner of the firm.
With 31 different commercial practice areas, there are a range of different avenues your career can take. Our aim is to balance your own interests with the business needs of the firm and offer you as varied an experience as possible, so that, on qualification, you know what you want to do and the area of law that suits your skills best.
We also offer you the opportunity of good quality work and exposure to a range of interesting industry sectors.

A team behind you
As you'd expect, there are plenty of people to support you during your training contract. At each location we have a Trainee Co-ordinator who will take responsibility for the development of your career over the two years. On a day-to-day basis you will be supervised by Partners and senior lawyers who have a particular interest in trainees and offer good opportunities for quality work, as well as considerable responsibility and contact with clients. James Robins, our Training Principal, takes an overview of the scheme and an active interest in your career. You will also be supported by the HR team, who will organise and run a number of different training events to develop your technical, business and personal skills. The team will also maintain regular contact with you before you join the firm to ensure that you feel part of the Bond Pearce team from an early stage.
Our trainees also have a strong internal network within the firm, so you're never far from someone who's prepared to offer advice or act as a sounding board. In the early days we also provide you with a 'buddy', who is a second-year trainee. They'll show you the ropes and help you out.
We are proud of the time and money that we invest in a relatively small number of trainees − a demonstration of our commitment to growing and developing our own lawyers. It means that you're treated as an individual, rather than an anonymous number.
