Shipping

Bond Pearce international and multi-disciplinary shipping law team draws on the experience of lawyers from our offices across the UK to offer expert advice on all aspects of shipping work.

A Norwegian speaking English lawyer, Lynne Skajaa, gives the team a clear understanding of the Norwegian shipping market combined with an impressive depth of knowledge of international shipping law and clients.

"Our team specialises in banking and finance, with ship finance as an integral part. We have acted on a wide variety of international shipping projects in Scandinavia, the UK and other countries" said Lynne.

"Our aim is to provide commercially driven legal advice which will in turn improve clients' management and control of legal costs. The continued growth of our client base reflects the first class service the shipping team can offer, advising the Royal Yachting Association, Carnival, Brittany Ferries, VT and Associated British Ports to name but a few."

The shipping lawyers have advised on construction contracts, refund guarantees and new building finance for vessels built in yards in Norway, Poland, Ukraine, South Korea and China and have worked with all of the leading shipping registries. They have been commended on their robust support in all aspects of the industry, be it advising on ship finance deals, project managing and giving legal advice on the sale and purchase of superyachts, commercial vessels and rigs, drafting and reviewing charterparties and shipbuilding contracts, providing sound commercial advice in maritime litigation or providing company secretarial services.

The shipping team also have the benefit of drawing on expertise across the practice from energy and Planning, regeneration and environment concerns to employment, health and safety, intellectual property and dispute resolution.
