Christian is a senior associate specialising in property damage recovery and liability claims, insurance policy disputes and high value/complex dispute resolution.
He has dealt with numerous claims arising from fires, floods, subsidence, explosions and escapes of water, including over 100 claims for a single household insurer arising out of the Buncefield disaster.
Christian also has experience of defending high value property damage claims, including a claim for interference with fishing rights following engineering works in the River Tyne.
Examples of recent experience also include:
- recovering £850,000 in damages from a third party following a fire at a peat processing plant
- recovering damages from a Local Authority and property developer following flooding from a poorly maintained culvert
- successfully pursuing a Local Authority and Utilities company for building reinstatement costs following a serious land-slip in South Wales
- recovering substantial damages from a major UK housing developer following repeated flooding caused by run-off from a newly constructed housing estate
Key clients include Chartis Europe Limited, Lloyds Banking Group and Tokio Marine Insurance (Europe) Ltd and CNA Insurance Company Ltd.
In addition, Christian has worked on behalf of many of the major UK household insurers, including RSA, Zurich, Aviva, Ageas, Allianz and MMA. He regularly provides bespoke training for clients.
Christian is a trained mediator accredited with ADR Chambers.
