Bond Pearce

David is a partner who advises employers, consultants and contractors on all aspects of construction and engineering projects.

He advises on methods of procurement, principally on behalf of employer/developer clients and has significant experience in drafting and advising on the industry standard forms of building and engineering contracts and other project documents, including consultant appointments and the associated security documentation.

He has worked for public and private sector clients on a number of local and national projects involving a mix of private and public sector funding.

David also has expertise in relation to dispute avoidance and resolution and he has represented employers, contractors and sub-contractors in the courts, arbitrations and ADR. He has particular experience in conducting adjudications and regularly gives seminars and client workshops on the topic. He is a qualified adjudicator and a member of the panel of adjudicators for the Chartered Institute of Building and the Construction Industry Council.

He is recognised as a leader in the field of construction by Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession 2011.

His recent work has included:

• advising a number of public and private sector clients on a number of large scale development projects, including several town centre redevelopment schemes, the design, construction and fit out of retail distribution centres and a number of universities on their campus expansions
• drafting a number of long term framework agreements dealing with revamp and refurbishment programmes for national retail clients
• drafting the project documents for a design, supply and commissioning of a waste water treatment plant for a manufacturing factory
• representing the owner and operator of a wind farm on a series of significant adjudications arising out of the cabling works on an onshore wind farm project
