Bond Pearce

Karen is a Partner specializing in professional risks.  Having qualified in 1996 joined Bond Pearce's Southampton team in 2000 before undertaking a lengthy secondment with Hiscox Insurance Company.  Following the conclusion of her secondment Karen became one of the founding members of the firm's professional indemnity team in London and now heads the team there, acting for a range of primary and excess layer insurers. 

Karen has attracted particular recognition for her work in the defence of claims against lawyers.  Her recent experience includes the defence of a significant number of claims arising from losses sustained by sub-prime lenders, but she also has an interest and wealth of experience in dealing with claims arising out of commercial disputes, tax, trust and pension matters and commercial / residential property issues.  Karen successfully conducted the defences in Robinson v Cartledge & Ors [2007] EW Misc 4 (EWCC) and Fonexco Group Ltd & Ors v Manches (a firm) & Anor [2010] EWHC 493 (QB).

Karen also deals with a wide range of claims against professionals including accountants, IFAs, stockbrokers and insurance brokers on behalf of a number of insurers.  In addition, Karen advises on policy coverage including in relation to alleged fraud and dishonesty.
