Maria is a partner specialising in pensions.

She advises pension scheme trustees, employers, intermediaries and providers on all aspects of UK pensions law.

Examples of recent experience include advising:

• Foster Wheeler Limited in its highly publicised case relating to the equalisation and payment of benefits under its DB scheme
• a number of employers and trustees in equalisation of benefit reviews
• a number of employers and trustees regarding scheme re-organisations, closures and wind ups, including clearance applications and withdrawal arrangements
• trustees of schemes in PPF assessment and employers and trustees in the run up to an insolvency event
• employers and trustees on scheme amendment projects including consultation exercises and documenting a 13 benefit structure DB scheme
• employers and trustees in funding negotiations including TPR recovery plans
• employers and trustees in Rule interpretation
• pension related issues in public to private sector/transfers
