Mark is a partner specialising in property related litigation, with particular emphasis on landlord and tenant. He has acted on many commercial and residential landlord and tenant matters, including lease renewals, dilapidations, rent reviews and possession claims, as well as the wider range of property disputes such as adverse possession, rights of way, restrictive covenants and land contract breaches.
Mark has very considerable experience of professional negligence claims against property professionals, particularly solicitors involved in real estate issues. He also regularly acts for landowners involved in telecoms issues and has advised frequently on issues arising out of tenant insolvency.
Mark's clients include both landlords and tenants, and Mark numbers Royal Mail, Crown Estate, ABP and Church Commissioners amongst the wide range of property-owning entities for whom he acts.
Mark leads a team of lawyers experienced in all issues arising out of portfolio management, and successfully assists clients in maximising value from their property assets through combining in-depth knowledge of legal issues with practical and commercial treatment of issues arising.
Mark is recognised as a leader in the field of real estate litigation by Chambers UK Guide to the Legal Profession 2011 which says he 'impresses across a wide range of property litigation matters'.
Mark is a solicitor advocate with higher rights of audience and is widely experienced in the use of alternative dispute resolution, having been involved in a number of mediations. He regularly delivers training to clients on contentious property matters and other real estate issues as well as writing articles and delivering podcasts on topical issues in real estate.
