Areas of expertise include property damage through fire, flood, escapes of water, subsidence, environmental damage claims and mediation and litigation
Examples of experience include:
- recovering £300,000 at trial for the insurers of a church damaged by discharged fire extinguishers
- settling pre-trial a claim for a fire in Richmond Park, London, recovering £1 million for insurers
- defending proceedings against a commercial property owner alleged to have damaged a neighbouring property – having claim struck out and recovering client’s costs
- successful appeal to the Court of Appeal on a subsidence claim (Kirk v London Borough of Brent)
- recovery claim for £6 million, for insurers of sheltered housing complex in Bristol (on-going)
- numerous recovery claims following fires starting in electrical distribution equipment
