Monica is an associate specialising in commercial law. She has been involved with a number of global commercial projects and worked closely with companies and lawyers based in the US, Middle East, South Africa, Asia Pacific and Japan.

Monica has particular expertise in all areas of privacy and data protection, and has extensive Europe-wide experience as well as experience on a global basis. She has been working within the data protection arena for seven years.

Her career to date has predominantly consisted of data protection, service outsourcing, and multi-jurisdictional commercial projects.

Examples of experience include:

• putting in place the global data protection structure in one of the largest IT organisations in the world, and assisted in the development of their company-wide privacy training programme
• setting up a commercial training programme directed at Commercial Managers for De La Rue, the world's largest commercial security printer and paper-maker
• provided substantial support to the business in the global roll-out of the new Dell Services portfolio (launched in February 2008), including outsourcing arrangements which included TUPE/ARD issues, data protection provisions, and anti-trust matters

In addition, Monica was an active member of the EICTA Working Party (now known as DIGITALEUROPE) - the European Information & Communications Technology Industry Association. It represents the interests of both national associations and corporations operating in the information technology and consumer electronics sector in Europe. Composed of 62 major multinational companies and 42 national associations from 29 European countries, DIGITALEUROPE represents more than 10,000 companies all over Europe with more than 2 million employees and over EUR 1,000 billion in revenues.
