Sarah advises private, commercial and institutional clients in both the public and private sectors on all aspects of environmental and planning law.
She has spearheaded the development of the firm's environmental law practice, which is consistently identified in the "leading firm" band in the South West by Legal 500 and Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession. She advises on all aspects of environmental law and policy issues affecting property and business. She is currently advising on a range of environmental matters including pollution prevention and control permitting, packaging waste, waste management licensing, contaminated land and nature conservation.
Sarah advises on environmental aspects arising on a diverse range of property and corporate transactions handled across all the firm's offices, dealing with due diligence, tackling complex liability issues, instructing environmental consultants, scoping studies and insurance, and working to minimise exposure to risk.
On the planning side, Sarah has advised on over 50 projects subject to environmental impact assessment within the renewable energy (on and offshore), minerals, urban development and waste sectors. She is involved at all stages of the planning process, from pre-application negotiations and environmental impact assessment to inquiries, agreements and judicial review.
She regularly lectures at the University of Plymouth, at conferences and to clients.
