Sebastian is a partner specialising in mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations, venture capital funding and joint ventures. He has particular expertise in the energy sector.

In the last five years Sebastian has acted on transactions for the sale, purchase, financing or investment in more than 30 renewable energy projects with a combined capacity in excess of 2.5GW, including RWE Npower's groundbreaking Zephyr transaction.

Sebastian is client partner for a number of significant clients including Renewable Energy Systems, Eneco and NICE Systems.

Examples of experience include advising:

• RWE Npower in relation to Zephyr, the sale and financing of seventeen wind farm project including the North Hoyle offshore project and the 92MW Farr wind farm
• upon investments in some of the UK's leading biomass (Wood Energy), geothermal (EarthEnergy) and solar PV (PV Systems) and solar thermal (Future Heating) energy companies
• Rhyl Flats (90MW): the acquisition (pre-construction) of the Round 1 offshore wind project
• London Array: advice on the joint venturing arrangements for Farm Energy, the originators of the 1,000 MW London Array Round 2 project and the subsequent sale of Farm Energy's interest to DONG
• Sheringham Shaol: establishment of the joint venture company (Scira Offshore Energy Limited) that is developing the 315MW Round 2 offshore wind project, the subsequent introduction of a third partner and further sales and acquisitions by the original partners of their interests
• prospective acquirers/investors in a number of Round 1 and 2 offshore wind projects, including Thanet, Ormonde, Humber and Walney
• E.ON Ruhrgas in relation to the reorganisation of its UK group of companies
• Banks renewables in relation to the sale of the 24MW West Durham onshore wind project to ESB
• advising Renewable Energy Systems on the sale of Milane Holdings (a wind farm extension project in Northern Ireland) to Airtricity

Sebastian is recognised as a leader in his field of corporate finance by Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession 2011 which notes that he is "widely respected for his energy expertise".

In addition to his transactional practice, Sebastian advises corporate clients on governance and other risk and compliance related matters. He regularly presents seminars on these subjects.
