Simon is an experienced corporate finance partner. He has extensive experience in corporate transactions, particularly M&A, private equity, investments, joint ventures and restructurings. Simon also advises on corporate law matters generally, including listed company regulation, reductions of capital, buy back of shares, corporate governance and other more technical aspects.
Simon has led on some major transactions, such as the disposal of Tullow Oil UK Limited for Tullow Oil plc, for £210m, and the acquisition of a 50% interest in Greater Gabbards Offshore Winds Limited for over £300m. He has also advised on a multitude of deals, many with an international element.
Simon has a particular specialism in private equity, acting for companies, management teams and investors. Simon advised the management teams in relation to the MBOs of British International (helicopter operator), Allen & Heath (mixing desk manufacturer) and Space Engineering (national retail contractor), and the private equity house Piper Private Equity on a number of investments, including Bottlegreen, Justin Craig Education and Weird Fish.
Simon is client partner for a number of substantial companies including RWE Npower and Countrywide Farmers plc. Simon is involved with clients' training and strategic planning, and assists them with their plans, including acquisition plans, and the integration of efficient legal processes into their operations.
Simon is recognised as a leader in the field of corporate finance in Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession 2011.
Simon was named Corporate Lawyer of the Year for the South West in the Insider Dealmakers Awards 2007. Simon graduated from Warwick University with a first class law degree and has attended the Harvard professional services firms programme.
