Our Work

  • advising Marathon Oil and E.ON Ruhrgas in respect of managing their risk, financial exposure and business continuity as a result of the administration of North Sea oil exploration company Oilexco North Sea and in regard to ransom positions regarding pipeline control
  • advising a key client on risk management both legal and business, in respect of a £45m time-critical contract where the contracting party had significant solvency issues
  • providing strategic advice to E.ON Ruhrgas on managing business continuity on a significant platform build contract where the contractor, SLP, entered administration
  • strategic insolvency and finance advice to E.ON Ruhrgas on the structuring of a contract for an FPSO through a semi SPV structure – assessing the potential insolvency risks and advising on a letter of quiet enjoyment, PCGs, negative pledges and the finance structure generally
  • acting for a Singaporean energy company in the structuring of their purchase and farming out of two oil fields where there was concern over the financial stability of a joint venture party. This involved detailed consideration of the deprivation principle, which is fundamental to insolvency law and careful drafting of trust arrangements.
