Bond Pearce

Our commercial team advises a wide range of clients on a broad scope of commercial and regulatory issues that impact on the development, financing and operation of renewable energy projects.  At its core this involves advising developers on the sale of electricity and obtaining value from the financial support mechanisms from which the renewable generation can benefit, such as the Renewables Obligation or feed-in tariffs, getting new projects connected to local distribution networks or to the national grid and on the electricity industry regulatory framework (under both the licensing regime and the industry contracts).

The team's areas of expertise include:

  • Power Purchase Agreements
  • grid connection issues
  • Operations and Maintenance Agreements
  • Wind Farm Services Agreements
  • the Renewables Obligation and the trading of Renewable Obligations Certificates ("ROCs")
  • the Climate Change Levy and the trading of Levy Exemption Certificates ("LECs"
  • Feed in Tariffs ("FITs")
  • industry agreements (e.g. the Balancing and Settlement Code, the Connection and Use of System Code and Distribution Agreements)
  • credit support
  • connection issues
  • emissions trading.
