Our construction and engineering team has been advising on the construction of renewable energy projects, and particularly wind farms, for over fifteen years. Recent experience has included offshore developments.

The team advises on:

• compliance with public and utilities procurement directives and regulations and the use of a wide range of construction projects including LOGIC, FIDIC, MF/I, ICE, NEC, BEAMA, JCT, ACE, RIBA, etc
• the advantages and disadvantages of using an EPC wrap form of contract or separate contracts for the turbine supply, electrical works and civil works with or without an interface agreement
• drafting bespoke contracts or amending standard forms so that they are suitable for wind farm developments (particularly the FIDIC forms of contract (Yellow and Silver books) but other projects have been procured using the IChemE and MF forms of contract) 
• the issues that commonly arise concerning interfacing the various works and risks to that interface, availability and performance warranties and liquidated damages linked to them, the relationship between "construction" and "O&M" contracts, limitations and exclusions of liabilityproposed developments of combined heat and power plants and a waste to energy plants.
