Bond Pearce

With one of the largest specialist employment teams outside London, we can assure you depth of resource.  We have significant experience in dealing with issues arising from large workforces including business immigration, labour relations and a range of related issues including tax, pensions and defamation meaning we can spot critical issues quickly and offer commercial solutions.

A workforce must come together for the good of its employer but the employer also has a responsibility to its employee.  We work with our retail clients to create a balance whether dealing with employee relations, change management or strategic board level challenges.

We have substantial experience of handling both high value and high volume litigation for a number of large and high profile retail employers.  With complex employment litigation, we support clients through brand sensitive cases such as whistle blowing, discrimination and harassment claims.

We are working with the British Retail Consortium to produce the BRC-Bond Pearce Retail Employment Monitor, which assesses the impact of job losses and job creation over the previous year as well as measuring retailers' employment intentions for the quarter ahead, giving us an invaluable tool to identify national trends and develop critical insights for our clients.   Read more about the BRC-Bond Pearce Retail Employment Monitor.

We have developed a specific training programme for retailers, which clients have found particularly useful given that this is a sector where store management often have to react to circumstances without local HR support.

Our work covers:

  • Employment tribunal litigation
  • Employee relations - grievances, disciplinaries and whistle blowing
  • Flexible working
  • Restructuring and organisational change - redundancy programmes, collective consultation, corporate transactions, insourcing, outsourcing and business transfers
  • Executive retention and termination
  • Business immigration
  • Trade unions and collective issues
  • Policies and procedures - consultancy agreements, employment contracts, employee handbooks, equality, diversity and discrimination measures
  • Tax
  • Pensions
